sometimes my layers clash with your layers: a conversational writing workshop

07 September 2019. Free entry.

// bodies are complex and complicated and have many layers. sometimes my layers clash with your layers. how do we work through that? //

As part of the upcoming fifth volume of HAMSTER Magazine, published by The Physics Room, join artist and writer Jennifer Katherine Shields for a conversational and creative workshop about bodies, creating, collaborating, reading, and writing.

// Been thinking and writing more about bodies, my body, my relationship with my body, how my body relates to other bodies //

We will gather in The Physics Room's library space to have an open discussion about bodies, art, collaboration, and all the complexities that these things bring.

// collaborating across identities, writing personal and intimate pieces. reading and writing as a means of collaborating across generations, across time and history, with those who are no longer here //

At the same time, items from The Physics Room's publication archive will be available to engage with — to photocopy, highlight, cut, and re-assemble texts to create new texts, and pieces of found poetry to accompany and propel our conversation.

This event is open to everyone regardless of bodily experience or artistic practice, but there is limited space in the gallery, so please register using the following link:
